002-2Austintown Rotary welcomed Ken Smith and Jim Edwards from the Rotary of Louisville, OH to discuss their flag program.

Ken and Jim spoke to members and guests of the Rotary Club of Austintown about their very successful project of displaying the American flag on patriotic holidays each year.   Residents are able to lease a flag to be placed and removed in a uniform location near the street of their home at various times/periods by Rotarians and volunteers.  For a nominal fee, flags are kept in good repair and stored between displays.

Mr. Smith and Mr. Edwards enthusiastically presented their program: “How to build a Flag Program”

The entire POWERPOINT presentation can be downloaded from the Louisville Rotary website:
Similar programs in Canfield, Salem, and Struthers have enjoyed success.  Rotarians are now making final decisions on how to make this project a success, and details will soon be available.
